On MK1/2's they had sliding windows ;). No use on a MK3 onwards. The mirrors are mounted trough the sliding window catch holes, already there.
But what I don't get is, of they are mounted to the front sliding window catch, when the owner has the window slid back, the mirror will be useless?!

the view through those mirrors actually gets better as you slide the window back.
