That horrible crumbly, oily, gritty foam on the front bulkhead in the engine bay - is in any use whatsoever?

If it's like mine was (in bits and damp) then I'd day get rid. It holds moisture and looks rubbish. You could always replace it with a more modern closed cell foam, but I've left mine bear and added more deadening on the inside instead.

I'm just in the middle of soundeading mine at the minute and the part your on about was in several pieces so I just chucked it and shall just replace with silent coat and cc.

i did the same thing and seams to work fine.
