If the pully is good then changing the wok is possible in the car.

Or cut out the filling bit. As the pointer is still cast there.

I've only got a basic timing gun ... which was cheaper.

And although it'd be hassle, my gut says changing the pulley is likely to be less hassle than the clutch cover.

Look at it. Use a mirror if you need.

Sorry - I have no idea what you're suggesting I look at or cut out.

Hmm, it might be six and half a dozen. You'll have to pull the radiator and the mounts to get at the pulley.

On an early car I'd probably do the wok. Not sure on the later ones with servo's and stuff in the way. Reckon you could do it in a couple of hours tops. You'll need a spanner cut down for the back bolts

? Loosen engine mount, undo 12 bolts and take off the slave cylinder.
Make tea,
Reverse the job.

Optionally leave out the two bolts round the back that are a bloomin nightmare.

Don't lave them out, just slot the holes in the wok to the edge so you can slide it on and off of the screws.
