Some time in the early 90s I got fed up of keeping a hot Mini on the road I decided to build it up as a Mod prod hill car.
I booked a week off work ordered the short motor to suit my head paid for it and got ready to do the build.
Went down to collect the motor on a Friday and it was not ready. Ok no probs I will collect on Sunday I say.

Small problem the builder was getting Married on the Saturday morning. No probs he says come down after lunch and we will get it sorted. Well I ended up building a customers engine while mine was machined and assembled. Left the machine shop at 4 am and the builder went home showered and went of on his honeymoon. Him and his lass had been living together for ten years before the wedding so she was not supprised.

I like the 1/2" extension bar stuffed into the breather. 

 

All these race car threads you're starting have got me looking for spare bodyshells.

Good question. IIRC they were Group 5s from Huddersfield before he really started as a business.

Looks awesome! The old pictures are really cool. The subframe mods are clever, with the support bar around the top for the massive radiator.

Do you still own the car?
