ooft that looked nasty! Both parties must have been gutted when that happened :-( can't help thinking that if the driver in the green mini had veered left (I guess looking at it he either veered right or just slammed on the anchors and hoped for the best) that he may have just missed him.

i remember filming that crash on my old fone! 2008??
2009 I think, not 100% on that though
For people that can't see, check out the first pic and check the fuel filler cap
Brimmed tanks and track days are not good for you or the people behind you
P.S not my pictures, someone else took them

The biggest problem is the oil surge if you don't have a centre oil pick-up pipe. Unless the sump it topped up to slightly over maximum it will be likely to lose oil pressure in any long fast right hand corner. Imagine having to suddenly lift off mid-corner because the oil light came on and there was a Subaru WRX right behind you.
For track work fit a BIG oil pressure warning light with a 22 psi pressure switch.

^^^^^^^ this! Especially in a mini, it can be no fun if you continually watch your mirrors rather than take the line you want. I have also been on the other end on a bike at the Nurburgring where there were guys out in 1.2 Corsas. It's far more fun if you are reasonably well matched to the other cars on track.Try and get on a mini track day. The issue with being on the track with a mixed group is you'll find you're always in the way. I had this at cadwell park in a seat Ibiza 130 FR a few years ago. The 500bhp cozzie and other hooligan machines were always hanging off my bumper out of corners, then some people had to be past into corners, the car was just underpowered for what else was there

I was a passenger in this at Brands a while ago at a track day
It's producing well over 200BHP, LSD, the driver is good behind the wheel.
We had a TVR which was quick in a straight line, but slower than us through the corners in the way every time the track wasn't straight.

The MK1 performance 2 day eveny at Blyton is less than a month away, I'm not sure if there are any spaces left on the track for either day now, but it's an excellent event, and the track manners were good last year.
