I have a 1990 rover mini 998 that was experiencing major electrical issues due to shorted/burnt wiring to to the last owner shorting it with aftermarket mods. I believe that the components were ok as I got it running by bypassing the shorted, fried wiring. I've rerun new wiring for the whole car with straight 12v (no relays) for simplicity sake and added terminal blocks to isolate each circuit to ease troubleshooting. I've left the Lucas electronic ignition amplifier in place. The starter turns over but the engine won't start. I tried arcing my lead off the distributor but don't see a spark. I tested and have power coming off of the ignition coil when the key is turned.
I think I may have bitten off more than I can chew. Do you think that this is due to the relays being bypassed or is something else? Thoughts?
P.s. I know I may have screwed myself here...
