Hi everyone,

I was just wondering drink if there are any benefits for having a rear window louvre?

I think they look great.

On the flip side, do they cause any problems?

Thanks in advance

They help keep the interior temperature down when parked or driven under hot sunshine.

Downside is that they do reduce rear vision somewhat.

Oh great. Thanks.

Would they help visually when it rains? Since there's no wiper.

Unlikely as the rear window get wet & grubby from the spray rather than from the water falling vertically. It might reduce it a bit, but you won't know until you try it, or find someone who has.

How easy is it to clean the screen under a rear louvre once attached using the likes of Sikaflex or similar?

I thought louvred rear window covers had to be quick & easy to remove for window cleaning. Be a bit of a b****r if they weren't.

They once were easily removed by undoing a couple of clips but the ABS ones need to be attached using sikaflex or similar which is what is causing me to raise an eyebrow as to whether I'll ever have a clean rear window again or not.

I don't think it's a good idea to bond the louvred panel onto the car. Why not modify it so that it can be removed easily. Can't be a difficult thing to do.

I have a louvre (original autoplas and for sale) .
These are easy to remove imho, but its not a matter of some easy clips, to do it safely you should remove the fillet strip.

New louvres can be modified, but its not easy to add a support in the center of.the louvre ( well its easy, but doesnt look that good)

They help to keep the window cleaner and I just sprayed with a cleaning sollution on the glass to clean it. It does help to keep the car cooler too, apart from getting lots of intrest at shows 3:)
