So I have just re done my mini and was wondering who has used stuff like this?

I was planning on a little adhesive at the ends when using externally. I was also thinking it can be used internally.

 

Has anyone used cheeapy stuff?

i bought 3 meters of that stuff for the inside of my girlfriends mini when i refit the interior for around the rear bins & along the bottom seat lip. its pretty flexible and the stuff i have has sticky glue stuff inside the U to help it stay on, it would probably wear and fade if used externally

I'm not sure if they're entirely the same as the ones we get here in South Africa, but going on my personal experience with what's available here I wouldn't recommend using it on the exterior as the chrome effect fades and becomes a nasty looking dirty matt white within 3-6 months.

It is OK to use up the rear edge of the doors to prevent paint chipping, but pretty useless on the body seam front to rear.

I have purchased deluxe strips now, I may get some of the cheap stuff for the interior.
