Mega bump. But i did end up getting the pressure and if i recall it was at about 20psi or just bellow when warm? It is all fresh oil and filters there was no metalic shimmer etc in the oil. Thinking on replacing the relief valve as suggested or at this psi i that a not going to be the case?

if i was to replace the reliefe valve would this be the correct part along with the copper washer linked in the description? http://minispares.co...|Back to search

Also i notice it mentions grinding the plunger? I am a little unsure of this bit and the haynes mentions nothing about it, could someone shed some light on this? maybe any other tips for removal and fitting?

also is it a waste of time replacing this part or could this be what is causing the issue with my pressure?

Thanks

Nice thread

plus one to all the sensible comments

amazing that such an important issue in cars is only covered by this little switch and light

keith calver shows a mod for the pressure 'bullet' and spring

(I am not sure if my mod was the best but I cut the 'bullet' in half, less area to get stuck, but still holds the spring and then just filled it with holes)

photobucket is down so I can't post the link right now :{
