I bought a pair of drive on car ramps off eBay, that I thought would be useful for oil changes, cleaning the underside etc. However the problem is they are so steep its near impossible to get up them. Also, looking at them, I'm not sure the stopper at the end would be enough to stop the car going right over.

Has anyone bought any ramps that are a bit shallower, and easier to drive up?

Something like this http://www.carlift-ramp-mr1.com/ looks great, but its very expensive.

I use those drive on ramps at home. But I put waffle boards up them to make them not as steep and stop them sliding away

That's looks like a really cool product but Christ is it expensive! You could genuinely buy a brand new 2 post hydraulic lift for that kind of money. I'm sure he put a lot of time and money into research and development but I just couldn't justify spending that much on it. It's a shame too 'cause I'd love one!

http://www.cjautos.e...roductCode=CL05 this would be perfect for the mini! Line it up with the subframe, jack it up once from the centre and get your axel stands in there, easy! £115 is a little bit steep but worth it for the hassle it'd save.

I've got a pair of Halfords standard ramps. They're quite steep and I used to have problems with them skidding away. My solution was to attach two long runs of carpet to them (long enough so that the bavk wheels are holding it down when the front ones start climbing. Generally seems to do the trick. I've tried a number of things to attach the carpet and the best thing I've found is plastic cable ties. They usually last three or four uses before they give up.

I've always used standard Ramps too. But to stop mine slipping I tied an old seatbelt onto each ramp and placed the end under the back wheels. Never had one slip, but I have driven of the end once😔
