Hi there,

Im trying to find a colour wiring diagram for my 1979 mini. Seems like theres a lot out there and I want to make sure I get the right one. Im going attempt to use the current loom in my restoration project instead of forking out for a new one and the hassle of fitting it.

This is my first project so do you guys think this is a good idea or am I just going to find problems further on.

Also out of interest is it much more effort fitting a new loom down the line when all the lights etc are in place compared to now where I have to engine in but nothing else?

As long as your current loom is in good condition and the outer sheath is not cracking then yes use it. The way the looms routed in the Mini its not really hampered engine in or out, and the lights are a 5 min job to remove, what may help you is in the FAQs a copy of the BS-AU7 wiring colours here http://www.theminifo...ng-codecolours/

Pay attention on the exposed squeezed on terminal ends as they are prone to going green, and clean up the bullet connectors and buy new bullet connection blocks they are a source of trouble when corroded
