Hi all want to purchase spot weld drills but don't know decent ones to poor ones advice please

Wurth Zebra are worth every penny but are quite expensive at £30 each.

 

I have about 4 of them and they have lasted years with an occasional sharpen with a file in the vice

I would also suggest getting a decent drilling lubricant - This will make it last much longer and keep it efficient

They aren't specifically for spot welds but dewalt do sets of metal drills that have a central pip so are just like spot weld drills. A set costs about £50 but that's for about 25 drills and they are best thing I have bought as they make loads of jobs very easy compared to cheaper stuff.

I could do with a decent set like that instead of the crap i keep buying that is just posing as quality items like poundshop drills painted gold for instance

I only paid £50-£52 for them about a year ago so I would look around as I bet you could find them cheaper. They seem expensive but just do what they should. I have a set at work that's four years old now and has taken a lot of abuse and are still very good. Most drill bits I have used barely last a week with teenagers!

The 8mm has done about 100 spots now and is still completely sharp. I take it slow and lubricate properly and they work perfectly every time. They even came in a little plastic tube too to keep them safe. They are gold coloured unlike the picture but ive not burnt through the coating.

I have had enough of drills made of Toffee. One set i bought posing as Bosch bits off of eBay were the worst. They didn't have time to go blunt because as soon as you start to drill, the shear and snap in half. Even the 8mm ones and over
