Hello Everyone,

I have wanted a Mini for ages and now in a position to get one, also a friend of mine has got one recently and its making me very jealous.

Anyway i was after some advice on what to look for and what to avoid when looking at Minis for sale. I know they can have problems with rust and i will be looking out for that when viewing, i was just wondering if there are any other major problems that they might have that i should be looking out for when buying.

I am happy to learn and try and fix some of the easier problems myself, but i don't have much experience working on cars.

Thanks

Iain

Hi Iain, Welcome to TMF.

Buy the mini with the best bodywork you can find, anything else is easier to fix.

Avoid oversills (there are topics on how to spot them on here)

There isn't really such a thing as surface rust on a mini, there's usually more hiding underneath.

Any questions, please ask.
