Hello,

I'm actually building a Mini and i'd like to get a better rigidity as it will have a powerfull engine. So I welded my front subframe where there are critical mechanical efforts.

I want to do the same with the rear subframe but I don't know where to weld sheet of metal.

Can anyone help me ?

Thank you, regards.

I would think putting gussets in the corners would be more than adequate and if you really want to strengthen then cross brace it with some 25mm box section being careful to clear the battery box

The rear legs on the front subframe could do with some reinforcement too.

Those straps will have little to no effect apart from adding weight. The subframes themselves are pretty sturdy. To feel any benefit you'll also need to solid mount them to the car.

The mini racers do not go overboard with reinforcement so i would bin the straps. They dont do anything as they are not supported in the middle so basically just extra weight. The gussets and extra weld should be more than enough for anything you add.

but they could be good to aid a rear skid plate mounting or a rear diffuser.
