Volvo V50 does my daily 40mile commute plus any fun with reasonable MPG.

Use my old mans shogun sport occasionally, its dog/shooting wagon.temporary_zps09nrnplc.jpg

2nd generation Mini Cooper D. Brilliant car and so cheap to run, though not ideal with the low mileage you are doing.

Recently had it re-mapped and goes like stink! When the wife uses it for work she gets 64mpg!

An older BMW mini is a good alternative. Obviously not the same fun or character as a classic but a good alternative during the winter.

Been thinking about a Suzuki Swift Sport as a more sensible alternative. Anyone owned one? Heard they're great...

A3 3.2 Quattro with a few subtle mods for me.
Fast, comfortable, I love it.
Pretty bad on fuel but makes a lovely noise to make up for it.

My current daily. BMW 320d MSport Touring with MSport Plus Package. This gives you the 19" wheels (which I love) and the Harman Kardon sound system which is superb sound system
