My question is how do I find out the original dealership my car came from? I have no reference point.
Thanks

Can you work out where it was registered from https://en.wikipedia...#Pre-2001_codes
If so post and someone may have a list of dealers for the mid-90s. (I have a list for 1989)

You may also be lucky and find it was a pre-registered car, so it would be worth paying the DVLA a few shekels to have the owner history.

I can't remember for sure, but I believe someone posted a link to a site on here that would tell you where your mini was sold from the VRN. I'll see what I can find.

Ok I found it, rather by luck than the search working.
If you go to regarchive.com it will tell you where it was first registered and when. It won't tell you the specific dealer. However, this may help if for example you can identify that there was only one Mini dealer in the particular town at a time.
Good luck!

^^ When it says that, the number plate should appear in red - just click it and it should give you the info. It confused me at first as well.
M&P - yes! How did you know that?! Did you try my plate out on it or something...? Black magic going on here...

Lucky Guess
Its actually a cunning way of spotting a JCG car rather than conversion or fake as that's where they should be registered to

SORN'd unfortunately, we had the monty carlo on road briefly for our daughters prom which was great. Paddy is sat covered and apart from the odd dust off hasn't been out which is a shame but can't afford to run him at the mo.
We decided to sell the Mk1 but changed our minds because we couldn't part with him, plan now is to restore him and one of the other two will have to be sold to fund it, but thats on hold until next year.

Ah that sucks. Yeah unfortunately running these little buggers isn't cheap, especially when you have so many other things that need to come first. deciding which one to part with is going to be a very hard decision, and not one I envy. The LE obviously raises more cash but is also more special. Hopefully things look up and you can keep all of them.
Did you ever put up any pics of the Mk1, I don't recall seeing any?
