My arp head studs damn they cost a lot of money for 10bolts washer and nuts ohh and lube and a sticker lol

Aim for the weekend is get head on and offer up the engine in the frame

Plan is get the engine in sort any small adjustments mark cut and weld gear linkage make sure all clearances
Then I should get my rose joints tie bars then will be good to remove engine again for tidy up of the engine

Got some adjustable rose joint tie bars which I'm guna got this weekend that will help the wheels going all over the place when moving the mini about

Gearbox de greased and painted , lightned flywheel and stage 1 clutch fitted sorted the bottom arm bolts out fitted some new ones

What did you use to clean your gearbox and engine with and what paint have you used??

I de greased the block with gunk and the gearbox was really bad so I took that into my mates work and put it in the tank and paint was just an alloy high temp paint and thank you

Fitted the main coolant pipe last night , thermo housing , got some new wheels still need to mod the rack etc

Hi Lee,

 

First day on the forum and it's already paid off. Just bought a '62 for a Vtec build. The '62 had no engine/transmission so it saved a lot of work. Looks like a lot of fun for a 2-3 year project. I'm in California and will be using Mini Mania's sub frame. What made you choose the particular engine out of the series?

You've got 100k miles on your engine. Are the Honda's that good to not rebuild the engine before marrying it to the chassis? Just finished a '56 Willys Jeep wagon project where I transplanted a 2004 4.3L V6 with 43,000 miles. Got it all done to find out the rear main seal leaks. First time in my builds where the transplant has had problems, but I'm not looking forward to yanking an engine I just put in.

Hi there Johnny erm yeah honda engines are one of the best so if the engine runs fine with no knocks or strange noises etc it will be ok my engine had 112k but the car was totally standard with 1 owner from new so I know it half been looked after and was a old lady that owned it too .

I chose the b16a2 purely because it is a more common engine to get and easier to get than a type r or b18 etc

Also awaiting polycarbonate Windows from Acw Motorsport there coming around the 10th this month and ordered a few bits from tegiwa imports just manifold studs , vtec solonoid cover and some new top and bottom balljoint nuts as I'm missing my top ones and a hamp low profile oil filter
