Not a chance.
One of the guys at work were speaking about emissions and VW thing popped up, 6.billion is a drop in the ocean for V.A.G.
For some lesser companies they would well and truely go down the pan!

They have just sold their share in suzuki 3.8 billion
6 billion could still kill them if Europe finds them cheating on emission's & adds to the bill
I bet they are sharpening their knifes as I type

VW go down the pan, Germany's economy goes down the pan, the Euro goes down the pan. Discuss.
Mate, I don't think you have been paying proper attention.
Audi and Porsche will keep VW afloat.

looks like it's world wide
http://www.theguardi...ts-live-updates
so VW is definitely looking shaky
still wondering if other brands are involved ? - can't tell me VAG are the only ones doing this
It's amazing that no-one spotted the Volkswagen emissions issue earlier...
But typically for a German car ...
there were no indications.

I think that will come true in the form of VW declaring bankruptcy to reduce liabilities and Audi - Porsche buying the company for a song and renaming it something else to remove the infamous Hitler and Diesel fiasco associations and come out smelling like rose at the other end.

So they inject wee-wee into the exhaust to negate NOx?! That's a new one! I read about this today, naughty VW!
Trucks have been using it for years to heavily reduce the tax. As r1minimagic said, It's turning the 'device' off that's causing all the moaning. I don't see what the big deal is to be honest.
It's only avoiding tax, which a lot of companies do, and that's the real problem. All comes down to a money issue, nothing to do with saving the planet.

Countries around the globe have signed up to reduce pollution levels, the introduction of the testing limits (such as euro 3, 4, 5, 6) is to reduce the pollution from vehicles. The vehicles have to meet the regulations. VAG are only meeting the US standards by programming the ecu during tests and afterwards it returns to normal, giving higher levels of pollution. The impact is countries failing to meet pollution reduction. Its not about avoiding tax, its about VAG selling and pushing diesel cars into the US. The US dont buy diesel cars historically, but VAG have been pushing diesel cars hard into the US.
UK cars......VAG haven't reduced the pollution during tests to save you road tax, they've done it to sell cars again and pass stricter tests on new vehicles.
And yes AdBlue and other addative systems have been used on trucks for many years. Trucks typically use alot more of the fluid than cars, but some cars do use this type of system also.
