Thanks,

Managed to get the engine bay with a coat of epoxy today,

Then I did a little filling, not quite there yet and needs a bit more work but not too bad
Must say though I am using upol fantastic after hearing good reviews and it is good.

Still a way to go but hopefully get some primer on in next couple of weeks.

Probably a dumb question, but did the mk2 Cooper have twin tanks as standard or was it an option?

It was never standard but a kit was available from dealers, which I believe is what was fitted to my car as its not mentioned on heritage cert but is all original parts, originally the lower bracket was held in with self tappers but I decided to spot weld it in when doing the restoration to avoid a potential rot spot.

Thanks, if it turns out as good as yours will be very happy, am doing clear over base this time as easier for future touch ups, in two minds about upol 1k smart clear as my compressor finds it hard work with my airfed,

Doesn't look much different but have put some high build epoxy primer on and with aid of guide coat been rectifying blemishes using doplohin glaze, getting there now, but then I will put some more high build on and repeat the process until happy with it

Thanks for comments, hopefully will turn out ok, once all primer is flatted I plan to build a booth inside the garage with filtered inlet and outlets so should minimise any dust. At primer stages I am not concerned as its being flatted anyway.
Still a lot of work though before I get to that stage,
