My Yoko A008s are 11 years old!!!! and still have loads of tread - obviously don't do enough miles! Really mean to change them as they arent exactly sticky anymore in the wet!

I would bin them. Can't be that good @ 11 years old. O_O

I've never worn the tread on a Falkern tyre down enough to warrant replacing it! I always replace them due their advanced age or the side walls starting to crack/perish first. OK so I don't do many miles and those miles that I do actually do tend to be spread across the tyres of two different minis. Mind you, I have managed to wear a few Yokos out though.

I am inclined to agree! but.. they do seem to be in surprisingly good condition and the rubber isn't visibly degraded. There must be a test out there for for that?.. would have thought that a massive company like yokohamma would be able to design a rubber that lasts more than ten years by now

Regarding Falkens, the FK (what people call the ditch finder) series are a very hard compound

The Ziex are of a much softer compound which will wear as yokos do if not more

Wear depends on car setup and how do you drive anyway.
