Hi Ben , what have you got planned for Pauls Lovely Cooper S?

When are the building works expected to be completed?

I do need to get my Mini back over to you for the new front hub to be fitted and get it MOT'd.

Regards

John

There is a big list of work required but it's all small bits for the most part.

Some mechanical work and the main paint work is to repaint the roof the correct colour and some surface rust to tend to underneath.

I'll document it all on here as I go.

The building work should be mostly complete by the end of this week and I hope to start moving stuff in in a few weeks.

We can talk about getting yours back for the hub and the mot.

Cheers

Ben

I dropped that off at 8:30 this morning ;D

There's quite a list to do.  New steering rack as the nearside was reported to have wear at the last MOT and the knocking is driving me nuts (Ben, can you keep the rack for me please)? Repaint the wheels and having Aquajets fitted.  Roof correctly painted (think currently it's a Renault white - that's what it said on the tin that came with the car).  Tidy up the grill fitting, sort out the rust at the on the fitches, align the doors. I then come up with a load of little jobs and I thought I'd get it MOT'd too!

You painted the entire car except for the bonnet, boot and right quarter......why not just match it all up?

Well it doesn't really work like that.

The blend panels are prepped strictly for the purpose of blending the colour so it matches what is there rather than hoping that it matches edge to edge.

This car has been painted many many times previously so i wouldn't want to get involved in a respray to put my name to without at least a weeks worth of prep.

Cheers

Ben

If I was to repaint this car, I would need to allow far more time to carry out the prep more throughly for refinish.

I've been rebuilding the red Cooper up starting with the engine bay parts

And then a flat and polish

New stripes and decals

And it went in for it's MOT which it failed on a couple of minor things, steering rack gaiters and a brake pipe.

I'll get those sorted out and then it's done.

Cheers

Yep.

I'll have updates on yours very soon.

The mechanical work is complete now, just the paintwork to go. I have the snowberry white paint now as well as more of the blue and some silver for the wheels.

Cheers
