Fit the fixed ones and you'll never have a problem with either leaks or rust.

Replaced the seals on mine as they had gon hard, no sign of either problems and the car is 11 years old

Yea never had a problem in the rain, but everything leaks with a hosepipe, i thought they were supposed to? Just to make sure you wash the inside of the car properly lol

Sorry i'm having problems spotting the safety issues with them as well. Maybe them slammin shut at sped on someones finger, but that isn't very likely, and i'm sure they don't just fall off do they? lol

thats sprockets man, that is what i ment, and for security ok think about it those windows are held on with 4 screws?! right...... so if you where to leave one open on a hot day alls it take is a sharp tug and off it comes leaving a nice big hole for some1 to get in cause havaok evan steel the car.
and it sounded like dan wanted to say something on this matter so i left the floor open to him, to look like the brain he thinks he is.
sorry everyone else if u dont like reading this sort of behaviour but iv had enuf recently and been quite snappy, evan online?!?! figure that lol.
cheers anyways sprocket. yea they are just one of the major security floors i think, so i plan to correct that with sealed units.

pry bar near the latch and ......

and not much will happen, over centre latches are pretty secure. Lots of modern cars come with rear windows that work in exactly the same way and still manage to get low insurance groups.

And fixed windows are of course much more secure, being made of glass.

That’s not what happened when some :w00t: at work was trying to see how easy it was to get into. (practical joke, which I didn’t find too funny)

Remember a mate having a Citron AX and all you needed to do to get the rear windows open was to punch quite hard at the latch from the outside, works on a few others too.

Sorry to say this, but the best way if there's something visible in the car isn't going to be by pulling at the window, its going to be with a ruddy great brick. And the securest windows in the world (short of laminated side windows!) isn't going to stop one of them.

Mine leak when hosed on, but only slightly, and I would say its best to whip the windows off occasionally (like its been said, they're only held on with 4 screws!), remove the seals and check for, and treat, any rust. Also dry under there properly when you've washed the car.

Some work better than others yes but if it's fitted well it should be quite tight. My point is that it's a sheet of glass. If someone wants to get through it the way it's fixed to the car doesn't matter.

If you have some problem with me Pip, feel free to PM me.

I can quite happily say that I very much doubt many minis at all have been broken into through the rear window! Its far easier to bust the front window and open the door, or bend the window frame of the front door open, or just pop the latch using some wire.

Its like saying someone would go to the trouble of removing the rear window becuase all that is holding that in is a peice of rubber and some plastic!

Now I do know of that being done, but that was because someone actually wanted to nick the heated back light!

A heated back light?? Which light is this? A brake light? Reversing light? Fog light?
