
Opening rear windows

Replaced the seals on mine as they had gon hard, no sign of either problems and the car is 11 years old

Sorry i'm having problems spotting the safety issues with them as well. Maybe them slammin shut at sped on someones finger, but that isn't very likely, and i'm sure they don't just fall off do they? lol

cheers anyways sprocket. yea they are just one of the major security floors i think, so i plan to correct that with sealed units.

Or a skinny hand and a stubby screwdriver (aka, a 13 year old chav wanting to go joyriding)those windows are held on with 4 screws?! right...... so if you where to leave one open on a hot day alls it take is a sharp tug and off it comes

They don't even need to be open, just shove a large screw driver / pry bar near the latch and ......

and not much will happen, over centre latches are pretty secure. Lots of modern cars come with rear windows that work in exactly the same way and still manage to get low insurance groups.pry bar near the latch and ......
And fixed windows are of course much more secure, being made of glass.

That’s not what happened when some

Lots of modern cars come with rear windows that work in exactly the same way and still manage to get low insurance groups.
Remember a mate having a Citron AX and all you needed to do to get the rear windows open was to punch quite hard at the latch from the outside, works on a few others too.

Mine leak when hosed on, but only slightly, and I would say its best to whip the windows off occasionally (like its been said, they're only held on with 4 screws!), remove the seals and check for, and treat, any rust. Also dry under there properly when you've washed the car.

Its like saying someone would go to the trouble of removing the rear window becuase all that is holding that in is a peice of rubber and some plastic!
