I read your first post about a week ago and I still come back to the same thing I thought then.
I know you've done the steering rack, but a number of things suggest to me it may still be the rack. It is usually one of the knock things that can't be seen and also given that it went away for a while after changing it.
Some racks are better than others and I've heard reports here of new racks lasting considerably less than a year.
Jack up the LH side, grab the wheel at 9 and 3 o'clock, rock it back and forth while looking at the rack if you see the inner moving relative to the outer, than that'll be it.
Still got your old rack? Overhaul it, if you find it is the rack.

What about shocks? are the rubber inserts good condition. Try going around the block only with them disconnected.

Is it your washer bottle hitting the bulkhead? I had a knocking that I couldn't trace and then discovered that an almoast empty plastic bottle can make an unfeasibly loud amount of noise.

Hi Guys
thanks for the replies shocks are new KYB gas from minispares
new rack also from them fitted fine also rechecked the u bolts after few weeks all tight
washer bottle is on inner wing and full
keep the suggestions coming
i have replaced the from sub mounts with steel and rubber ones but there seems to be a bit of a gap between the subframe lower front and the lower shell and the mount looks awkwardly
angled could this be it ? if so how would i reduce the gap between sub frame and body shell ?
thanks
lee :)
