good way of tracking some of the cars you used to own and how they are doing now! Just looked up my old 500 and the last MoT was a serious looking bill!!!! Nice to see the new owners keeps it on the road tho.

My particular fav was however

"Exhaust noise is clearly in excess of that emitted by a similar vehicle fitted with a standard silencer in average condition (7.1.4)"

Turns out my old MG TF is soldiering on nicely with no major issues.  One interesting item six months after I sold it though:

Nearside Rear Rear position lamp(s) excessively deteriorated so that it is not visible from a reasonable distance (1.1.A.3d)

What on earth is that?  Has someone put smoked-out lenses on it?

The list of subframe rot will be the heelboard and inner sills.

I wonder if the last one means that perhaps a cover sill has been fitted?

Centre of Chassis has Surface Damage on both N/S and O/S of Vehicle

I'm guessing thats from when I didn't see a massive speed bump in a pretty low Civic

Last 9 years, 3 fails and no advisory's.

First fail in 07, Reason(s) for failure, Nearside Headlamp aim too high (1.8), Offside Headlamp aim too high (1.8)

Because the tester was being a dick and wanted £75 to 'adjust' them, but didn't know how to take the chrome rings off.

Second fail in 08, Reason(s) for failure, Exhaust emissions carbon monoxide content excessive (7.3.B.1a)

That might be because the same tester tried putting an 84 carb mini through as 94 cat test and had the cheek to want another £75 to 'adjust' the carb/ put it through the correct test.

And last fail in 11,Reason(s) for failure, Nearside Rear Sub-frame corroded and seriously weakened (2.4.G.1)

That will be the screwdriver you stabbed through the drain holes that were blocked up with dirt/underseal then.

I just bought a 1997 Land-Rover Discovery very cheaply. It was SORN'ed with no MoT and very dirty.

I insured it and drove it to a pre-booked MoT. To my surprise it passed with just a few advisories which I've been doing today. By tomorrow all the advisories will have been done except for one slightly corroded brake pipe which I'll do when I get a new one made

I am absolutely delighted.

Just done mine, and between 2011 and 2015 it never passed an MOT first time lol!! It's a massive list of failures. Also only did 500 miles over 3 years!

I bought that car today..

I did one of the other cars last night and funny enough when it was being 'serviced' by a local fast-fit station, it always had advisory's for low brake pads, corroded brake/fuel lines, cv boots (always the same side) tread depth low and corrosion. But yet none of the 'advisory's' have ever been done and in the last 4 years of using somewhere else, it's never had those advisory's since....
