Hi,

 

I believe there is a later version (see the link). The brackets are not required because there is nowhere to mount them on the back plates.

Aren't the mounted on the radius arm to backplate bolts like this?

There is no later version. You need the (silver) bracket that locates with 2 of the 3 backplate bolts as shown in the above photo.

Thanks. I do have them off the original ones but I bought whole new drums hence my confusion
