Yeah olive green and white is a really neat colour combination. Similar colours were used on the South African Austin and Morris Cooper Ss.

anyhoo,
as for the Project W I am getting worn out these days. Still a lot of painting to do and conditions are far from ideal (ie way too cold). I wonder if there is a general plan for putting it all back together, a particular order. I have already forgotten where most of the parts go and whilst painting and cleaning bags got mixed up and separated here and there.
So far my budget is very good, as a friend gave me a load of bits and bobs I sold in auction and that paid for the paint and paint gun. I'm dreading the motor but we shall see much later this year or maybe next.
Here's the latest update
did my first of 3 stencils
finished the boot - I imagined how it would look after 2 years or so of active service
same goes for the rocker cover - one of my favourite pieces on the car
it's not really the rat look, more of a 'weathered look'.
took all the rust off the car and now I'm trying very hard to put it back on (you can see that after the welding, putty and seam sealer the boot came up pretty decent imo)
finally got this side cleaned up and 2 coats on it before weathering

And believe it or not I have actually managed to put some parts back on - and in the right place. I am just staggered at how quickly I have forgotten the order that I took things off.
got to get the white tape on the battery cable about near the beginning of the runner part
that's it for now folks, still got one star to finish off on one door and all the 'weathing' effects to do - and the cats to feed as well ;)

Here are links to some almond green (looks similar to olive green I think) and white mk1 Cooper Ss in SA.

Vinay great to see you are still following :)
those are some very smart minis - I would be proud to own one of those
spent some time checking part of the loom, found 2 blown fuses and some minor repairs to attend to

Yeah, those are some great cars, which were restored or preserved very nicely.
Each small job gets you closer to a completed mini :)

The ageing effects are fantastic - look very realistic!

@Graeme - thanks alot for the thumbs up,
I was happy with the boot, but not so with the rocker cover, but the bit's I am not happy with will be hidden by pipes and stuff
got some massive down time and have almost got the painting done - ooff, so so tired. I may put another coat on the roof and front wings, if I have the energy
if you are looking at this and spot SOMETHING IN THE WRONG PLACE do please let me know as I am having dizzy spells trying to put the right things back in the right places, so if something looks strange do let me know
got this fitted, hope it's ok
the bolts are not fully tightened in the pix - I was lining it up - all done now!

I wonder how long this paint will stay put, as I am not sure that I rubbed down the old top coat as much as I should have - live and learn I guess
this is I hope the last of the rust for a while at least
some shots of the roof
nothing too dramatic there, however the rear panel sucks - it looks like an American Indian horse, but I just left it that way
was fairly happy with the bonn et, still got the badgey wadgey to go on,

Around the front, sides and back
and then, I think I went Full Mental Jacket and lost it,
over the top gear, my wife, who incidently has a striking resemblance to a three headed fire breathing dragon, brought to my attention that she did not care to ride in the car with me....
yep that IS the passenger door, I think a mortar dropped close by, just needs to be glossed, maybe I can do it next week to almost wrap the shell up
thanks for watching - that's all for now folks :)

@James haha, for us Mini is the only option
I am getting lost in wires - again if you are reading this and see a wire in the wrong place or not following it's correct path PLEASE LET ME KNOW, I am sort of letting the wires tell me where they go by their shape, some of the labels I put on them are still there, some are so smudged up I can't read them anymore
I found a little trick that helped me, I put the wire in a bit of petrol tube and then fed the tube through the body - worked a treat - it's all like some kind of unbelievably challenging intelligence test - still got some painting to do but was just so tired, may even get the rear lights on tomorrow we'll see
not really sure if the red tape goes at the FRONT or REAR for the wiper washer tube but mine is at the front for now

and still getting tangled up
and does anyone know WHAT AMP FUSE SHOULD GO IN HERE as the original has fallen out, ooops
and the PO has shorted out the black and orange wire (don't ask me why) but I am worried this may cause me problems - do I need to sort this out - any advice here
gravitational waves, fission, quarks, studying analytic properties of scattering as a function of angular momentum, and I still can't seem to follow the flow of current even in a car as small as a Mini, ho hum
(haha deleted some pictures as I put the front-to-boot long wiring loom in the wrong way round - doh, I will post the correct pictures next time)
