Pics of the runners i will be modifying to fit the buckets, only cost me £10 for the pair.

Well i did get the chance to pop out for a bit today, i had the rear wheels on and off atleast 20 times setting up the hi-lows, and im still not 100% happy with them, but they will do for now. Also i think i might swap the spax for my gaz shockes fitted to my trailer as i think that are better and are more easy to adjust.

Well here is before the adjustments to the drivers side, lol yes the car is sitting on the tyre.

Then after alot of adjustment i got it sitting how i want:

I then fitted the tank, but as said ill probably fit my gaz shocks, so this might have to come out again lol, i think the boot is looking tidy now though:

I then got the exhaust backbox off:

I also went about modifying the rear miglia arches, i just set a level on the band say or around 3/4 inch then just put the arch through so 3/4 inch was removed the whole way round the arch and the end result was this:

Cut arches;

Material removed:

Showing them test fitted:

I will be covering them in carbon fiber, also i will be making a carbon fiber bonnet. They will both be showing the weve, then if i have enough material left i will cover the dash and maby make some door cards, but im not sure how far the CF will go.

Yea cheers, just waiting on parts then i can make more progress...

The only thing i can really do not if finish re-covering the reats and finish the subframes, as i need the engine in so i can drive the mini to my house, then i can weld the floors up, then i can fit the carpet and the seats...

Another day passes and no diff  so i doubt the mini will meet the deadline of the end of the month now.

Im not complaining about Johns service as it is very good, but i just wante to have the diff back ASAP as i want to have my mini back on the road.

Well today i didnt have much to do on the mini so i ended up helping out my mum by baging up a load of rubble and taking it down the tip, but luckly this paid off as when i was down the tip someone had left a pair on nearly new ramps, so i asked the guys down there and they said im welcome to the so i now have these :)

Posted Image

Then when i got home i though well as the sun is still out i would start on making my carbon fiber bonnet. So i cut the carbon fiber to size:

Posted Image

I then applied resin and layed the carbon fiber on, i then applie more resin, i couldnt find a way to make the edges stay down, so i came up with a way to hold them in place and this was to simply use paper clips lol, seems to work prety well though :) ill leave that to set over night and apply more resin. Ill then flat it back and lacqure :) should look ok in the end.

Yea me to, i think ill be doing my miglia arches aswell once i have cut them to size and then if i have enough left ill do my dash aswell. If i can make it turn out ok ill order some more and make myself some door cards :).

I know its not the best method of doing carbon fiber, but i dont fancy making a mold of all the different things i planning on doing, but hopefully it will turn out ok in the end.

Just popped out to check the bonney an everything has gone amazing, all the resin has fully absorbed overnight, so ill add another layer of resin to day as this will give me something to sand back to give a smooth finish, ill then lacqure it once i have got it smooth, but i must say it has come out alot better than i thought about it.

Exciting ;) I wanted a carbon bonnet showing weave when I did the flip front but after finding out how much they are I think I'll go with what you've done.

Where did you get the stuff from?

i got mine off a company online called East Coast Fibreglass Supplies Limited, for just the bonnet you will need 1m x 1m and you will have a little bit left over, but i ordered more that that as im going to be covering more bits.
