Yes I am an electrician and yes I am calling them bulbs because that is what they are called on the packets, OK so that is out of the way...

My VW Caddy (latest generation VW front end model) has rubbish lights, I think they do it so you will buy a model with HID next time, I am thinking of swapping all 4 lamps, H7 dipped and H1 full, for;

Super brilliance plus 50% light version at £35 for all four with the buy one get one free deal

Extreme brilliance plus 90%         "           £45 "        "          "               "            "

Ultra brilliance plus 120%             "           £55 "        "          "               "             "

What do we think? I am thinking the £35 set will be better than what I have but the £45 might be worth the extra if they are good and the £55 probably not worth it if the extreme really are that much better than the factory candles?

Anyone got some?any good? Thanks.

Too much choice aint there? My stock ones really are poop, it eats the DRL lamps too as it is like driving around with your brake lights stuck on! I found a list and the Extreme ones look fairly good especially compared to cheap halfords 2 in one pack jobbies that might be in there.

Loads of choice. Osram have good rep. I think ecp also have philips excellence or something which ive been told good things about.

I avoid halfords as prices are over inflated.

The two for one brings them close enough for me for this purchase and I only have a halfords near me, I could leave the main beam ones for now as it's the dip that causes me the main issue. That would only be £20 upwards for 2, how much are the ecp ones? Ill see if there is one near me....

I find the Halfords lamps (bulbs) work out reasonable with the bogof offer and a trade card 😉

Nightbreakers are very, very good.  I regularly run around in 4 different cars, out of them the clubby estate with Nightbreakers has easily the best lights!

Went in and they said I need to order then online then walk back in.......so I went outside and decided to see how tricky they are to fit, turns out they are H4 rather than two pairs of h7 and h1, wouldn't let me buy the right ones with my registration number as it think the new VW has the old rounded shape lights still. Went back in and told him and he sold me a pair of H4 night breakers for £18, does that sound ok? See how they are tonight!

Thanks folks.

There are massively missed opinions on E marking due to their nature, but have you looked at LED bulbs? I've got them on the Audi at the moment and they're very good! They passed the last MOT with them in as they're the same luminescence, just much whiter in colour. If you have a modern caddy, you'll need to get ones that are CAN-BUS compatible.
