They are much better, £18 is worth it Cooperman imo.

I just fitted a pair of big PIAA driving lights with 100 w bulbs onto it. If I also up-grade the head with those bulbs it will be fantastic.

Thanks for the encouragement. My Grandson's friend has a Halfords trade card so they might be even cheaper.

I'll fit the H4's that Halfords do, whatever they are called.

The extreme brightness ones don't get such good reviews as the Osrams but then it depends how cheap you can get them, more than £17.99 then I'd pop into Euro car parts and get The Osrams.

As I understand HID the car must have headlamp washer jets fitted or they are illegal anyway.

I don't think I need full HID as a Land-Rover Discovery 300TDi is not exactly quick. It is good to have decent lights for normal road and for some night off-road use and up-graded H4 bulbs with a pair of 100 w PIAA driving lights is enough. I know 100w bulbs are illegal, but I never have worried about this as I can't see the Old Bill taking my driving lights to pieces beside the road in the middle of the night, and if they did it's only a minor C & U breach and no points on your licence. I'm far more likely to get 'done' for speeding ;D .

I fitted halfords rally bulbs to my Frontera. They are 90w bulbs and make a difference...a big difference. I also put LED side lights in as well. I think when I get my mini finished I will be fitting the same set up.

The wires on my caddy were really thin, I think 90 watts would melt them!
