Always good to get to a landmark point in a build. Last night was one such event. After pondering my bracket that would not align, I stripped it all back down and cleaned . greased up the radius arm mounts. Seems to have worked as we now have this:
Ready to mount subframe! Ran all new brake lines on the rear to complement the new Goodrich flexi's. Still awaiting proper slave cylinders but these can be fitted with the subframe on the car. On that note...
...the subframe is now on the car! It took a bit of wrestling to get the holes lined up, but that was really the last big job to be done.
All we need to do now is..
Paint prep, and paint prep, and paint prep, and paint prep, and paint prep, and paint prep....

Great project, last year I did up a 1990 998cc, - is this one of the limited editions (a checkmate)?
I will be following this project closely, - all the best of luck with it

eefybeefy, its a neon if i remember correctly...
Another week, another round of mini work...
As the rear subframe was attached last time, I pushed forward the progress there and hit some milestones. First up, the rear brakes were rebuilt (including new slave cylinders) and put back together with the new lines and braided flex hoses...

...once done, I re-housed the suspension with the new HiLo's and ticked the box that was "rear subframe"
Wheels are on! To be honest, this was just for the picture, as we have a few things still to do back there. Excluding paint, that list looks like:
-Reconnect brake split union
-Bleed rear brakes
-Re-attach handbrake mechanism
-Run tank in and connect fuel line (possibly replace)
Whilst I has getting the greasy finger, Mitch was busy getting dusty with the bodywork prep...
By close of play, the shell now had:
- Completely flattened NSR quarter
- Completely flattened and primered OSF wing
- Completely flattened and primered OSR quarter
- Flattened and test primered NSF wing. After drying, we noticed a few ripples here so some knocking with a dolly and filler may be needed here.
- Front end still to be done, along with A panels, pillars and sills.
One area that had remained untouched was the rear end. I was playing with my TVR on Sunday so decided to strip the parts off the rear in preparation for this. Obviously, I got carried away...
...and completed the whole rear end to the first coat of black paint.

Made some good progress on Tuesday, although i dropped my phone during pictures and utterly destroyed it.
The rear is now complete. Tank in, brakes and handbrakes finished, and ready for paint.
Bill knocked a lot of the wiring up front to completion, and I started getting the wee 998 lump ready for its first start in months...
More tonight!

Steady progress over the weekend. Lots of flattening and painting. Got one side more or less knocked on the head:
As a result Mitch is now flattening the new door for the O/S. We should see this side more or less finished soon!
The other side has a few areas that still need attention...
I expect the painting should be completely finished in the coming weeks, and all that is really left to do is bolt everything back on!
