I would love to see the before and after print out to prove the 4-5bhp increase.

I very much doubt it and no i dont have one fitted.

Med quote 4 not 5 more hp on one of there fast road engines why would they lie

that's say 80hp to 84 with filter and substack

all I can say my car had more torque around 3000 - 4000 that was noticeable

over my standard set up

I had a k&n cone filter on my last mini which I swapped for a ramair filter and Turner carbs stub stack (essentially the same as the itg / med combo). Both setups were fine tuned and tested on the same rolling road and in both cases nothing else on the car had changed. The ramair set up gave an extra 4 hp.

Hope that helps settle the argument.

ITG filers are quite good, what actually makes the difference is the stub stack, that one in the med kit is a very good design

4 bhp over a kn cone? it depends on the stub stack, i can guess if you put that stub stack in the kn you get pretty much the same figures

The k&n cone is very restrictive in comparison to the itg or ramair. Sure, adding a decent stub stack to the k&n would help but imo won't bring it up to the level of the itg and med combo or ramair and med (or turners) stub combo. If you like the med stub but don't like the cost try the turners carb one. It's very similar but much cheaper.

Suprised on what?

Sorry, but with only 1 variable everyone could make a better filter. Filtration isn't tested here ( bar the small bi on the end, but no proper data to compar everything) so how could anyone be surprised about anything?

Kn filters offer good filtration and much more surface area

I will take that test with a pinch of salt, whats behind the KN filtration is not the cotton itself, its the oil, they're electrostatic filters
