It has been a long job but really is looking nice again now.

 

Clubman91, the anti drum comes from our paint suppler. I'm not sure what the manufacturer is but i'm sure i can find out.

Getting there now.

 

First up, rear lamps and Fog lamp

 

 

Once they were wired up, I laid some card down to protect the boot floor so the tank could go in

 

 

Then the tank was installed and plumbed in

 

 

I salvaged the blanking plugs from the old valance and put them in

 

 

Then the bootlid went on

 

 

 

Then the exhaust system and bumper

 

 

Washer bottle

 

 

Then i installed the battery and refitted the ECU so that i could start it up and test the lights etc

 

 

Car started first time and lights all work properly so that's good

 

Then the boot trims and spare tyre were put in

 

 

Then the seatbelts went in as well as liberal coatings of waxoil in everywhere

 

 

Then the back seats, companion bin covers and inner quarter trims

 

 

Followed by the front seats

And that's the interior sorted

 

 

And here is where we leave it today

 

 

Jobs left to do

Front ball joints

Steering rack gaitor

Bleed brakes

MOT

Flat and polish

Valet

Road test

 

And that's it. Should be ready for collection tomorrow afternoon!

I'm aware as I own one. That one is around 2" lower which is why I'm asking that question as I am about to go through a similar renovation soon and heard they can be a pain to sit right.

It wasn't fully fitted in those pictures.

 

I left it loose until i had tested the rear lights etc. I didn't want to get it all bolted in and then have to remove it again.

 

But yes, they are quite shallow on these

Mot passed with no problem at all. Just one advisory which is just some slight play in the lower subframe mount.

 

Here it is on the rollers during the MOT

 

 

I pumped over 2 litres of wax oil into the sills so they will be good for a long while.

 

Its been collected now by the customer so that's it!

The customer is indeed well happy, Ben has done a great job. I taxed the car today just so I could drive it home and now it's in the garage.
