hi im after a bit of a help from someone whos good with ecu programing

ive converted my standard spi cooper to specialist components injection kit and ecu , the engine is way over rich with the map im supplied with it wont start or idle , but ive manage to get it to idle okish but it wont drive before i can take it for rolling road which is 200 mile away  i would like to get the mini running and drive so i can test it without being so rich its wont go under load , sx tune is a program im not familiar with and just not sure what should i adjust on it to get it running , coolant temp , injector pulse or map it self etc  any help would be very helpful or if anyone has a map for their mini and could send it to me

engine is a 1275 cooper spi

lambda sensor narrowband turned off at ecu

2.5-3 bar fuel pressure

typhoon 2 ecu

cylinder compression test 205psi each when warm and throttle wide open

thank you

Contact Specialist Components. They have a large number of maps other than the basic versions on their website. Simon provided an alternate map for our engine which allowed us to get it running better. It is still taking some fine tuning to get it correct.

There is a startup checklist in the help files. Make sure all the sensors are operating correctly.

thank you , i did tell them about my problem in the summer but they just seemed a bit cba with me on the phone and told me take it to get tuned even though its going to cost me 500 to do that with transporting it 400 mile trip there and back  to efi parts runcorn and week of tuning to get cold start  map ok,   il try again  to see if i can get hold of them in better mood and get a better maps for me too try ,  as long i can get the car running and driving then i can make it easier for rolling road guy to  get it fine  tuned

wire in the wide not sure what you mean there

i bought the kit as plug and play ,

yep wideband sensor, your peeing into the wind otherwise.

things to check ( if you havent already)

the timing in SX is tallying with what the engine is doing via a timing light.

cam timing, last time i looked at a K headed engine the valve timing needed closing up to get it to pull cleanly, ie more lift on overlap.

if you know what fuel bins you have leaned out, try leaning out other ones higher up by the same percentage.

once youve got a wideband on it, get  to idle at @ 15:1 afr (lambda 1) get the engine up to temp before adjusting the map get that somwhere near close, then adjust the warm up otherwise you'll be going round in circles

Wideband noo havnt got one , sc told me i dont really have to have it , im better off having one after fine tuning and put it on self tuning i was told, but im going too get one but the sc wideband is expensive, ive tried their basic maps from their website and its wayyy too lean(map fuelling figures starts on 0.) inlet back fires the one for my engine, and the one they provided on the ecu is wayy too rich(map fuelling figures starts on 2.) it struggles too rev, so i need a map thats been done on 1.

Sorry if ive described it like that, but im sure some will know what i mean

Without the wideband you are blind to the rich /lean conditions

I know this is a few months old, but did you get this sorted?

I also was told the narrow band would work, but even with getting it on a rolling road here in the US, I have had some learning pains.

Also had some other issues with the engine that have since been sorted out and I was trying to use an Innovate wideband setup.

I have decided that having all the data in one place(SX Tune) would be very useful and have purchased an SC wideband with the adapter for my wiring harness.
