I only wish I had caught the bloke doing this to my old mk1, though I'd probably be doing life right now.

I once caught someone trying to brake into my old Renault 5 gordini turbo ....... Funny thing is I had taken the engine out prior !!!! Plus as I gave chase the old cast iron drain pipe on the side of the house gave way and whacked him around the back of the head ??? Karma is an amazing thing !!!

I used to park my Citroen AX GT across the road from where i lived, One night i got a phone call from a neighbour to say he was watching two guys checking out the cars across the road. We both agreed to go out so we crept along the pavement then ran towards the scumbags who started to run off, i caught one within 50 yards and my neighbour was off into the darkness after the other spotty youth.

My wife phoned the police who arrived ( shock/horror ) very promptly and duly threw the lad i caught into the back of the police car,I explained to the officer that my mate was still after the other would-be car thief so, we waited for about 10 minutes after which my mate turned up with the other lad.

The police officer then took a statement from us both then went on his way. I asked my mate how the hell he had caught the other guy in the dark, my mate then replied:  " Well i threw my grandads 303 rifle bayonet at him and i assume it hit him on the back of the head because he screamed and stopped running ", he then asked if i had got a torch as we had better go back and find it before someone else does.

     We found it about 1 hour later... Phew.
