wonder if there is a break in the cable itself , but the insulation is in tact

seen it before on welding cable - cable burns at a weak point , but insulation looks ok

Find a set of jump leads.

Hand brake on put in neutral.

Take battery out or disconnect if you have another battery.( make sure the terminals do not touch the body work)

Disconnect the main cable + to the starter and then connect the + cable of the jump lead to the live side of the starter( do not connect to battery yet)

Take the - cable and connect too the engine block and then the battery.

FINGERS OUT OF ENGINE BAY

Touch the live cable on the + terminal of battery and it will turn over.

if it turns over slow just check again with a known good battery.

report back.

p.s i had a problem with the throttle cable getting hot, it was earthing out, which made me change the mounting point on the engine bay earth strap.. this solved it and after a good battery charge all was well!...

Now on to getting it set up nice and running as good as poss!
