Maybe a bit off topic, but I just saw a 1971 Reliant Scimitar which had been converted into a pick-up truck (probably the best thing to do with that pile of fibreglass junk!!!).

The Scimitar had a steel ladder chassis designed by Tony Southgate, a Ford V6 Capri/Granada engine and a GRP body designed by Peter Bailey of Ogle Design. Ogle also did the Ogle Mini SX1000 - a very pretty little car.

I nearly bought a year-old Scimitar GTE in 1974, but after driving it I hated it and bought a 1973 Capri 3000 GXL which was a super car.

Well just an update for anyone that was interested. Insurance renewal came up so I phoned the company (admiral). Told the bloke on the phone what I wanted to do, he said it didn't sound like a problem but he would note it anyway, he tapped on his computer for a bit, went quiet, then said give me 2 mins while I speak to my manager.
5 mins later he came back and said if I remove the seats it voids the insurance. I guess computer said no.
I asked him to put it as a mod but he said he couldn't, I guess removing rear seats doesn't come up on the little drop down menu.
I just have to live with the seats folded flat instead. It's a shame because the cushions are ruined anyway so it seems pointless but never mind.

Phone around a few other Insurers Mini Specialists and see what they say,  you might be ok.
