Hello TMF,

My Austin Mini 30 is suffering from some lacquer peeling on the rear panels. I have attached some pictures below to illustrate.

What can be done here to repair this? Worth taking to a professional or can I do something myself?

Any help would be much appreciated, based in Hertfordshire if that helps locate me someone who can help.

Looks like the aftermath of a poor spray job previously. I'd say get it to a body shop. You might be lucky enough for them to scotch bright it back and spray laquer, otherwise it's a rub down and spray job.

The cherry red is bad for this the factory paint did this and you have to remember the paint is 27 yrs old only way to deal with prep and repaint

Only way to deal with that is to flat it back to sound paint or bare metal and paint it again, I would think its defo a poor quality paint on a previous repair.
