I'm in love with the green arden 8 port and i've gone off the honda and vauxhall front engine conversions as the cars at the show had so little space in the engine bay, workin on them would be a nightmare.

I was hoping to see the z-cars minis again but didn't see any, spose the huddersfield spares car is almost a copy of them ;D

was the huddersfield spares car the one that was in the magazine recently? i think they must be pretty much the same anyway.

As for the 8 port, that mini is sex! ;D It's got to be a-series all the way, imo. I've have seen it in the mags, belongs to a guy called simon o'sullivan if i remeber correctly (sorry simon if i've got this wrong!).

My report:

Had shed loads to do on saturday so we were late setting off (7ish). Me and my GF in my mini and my 3 mates in an Audi A4 (1 bini owner, one clubby+clubby est owner and one former mini owner).

1st stop - Lichfield Tescos to stock up on booze and food.
2nd stop - Lichfield 5 mins down the road MY BRAKES HAD GONE!! No pedal and no fluid in reservoir - You just can't imagine how gutted I was.
RAC arrived at about 8.30 recovered the mini and took it home. Whilst waiting for the RAC I was seriously considering jacking it in - thanks to Dan for persueding me otherwise (and driving).

So after we dropped my mini back at home we all piled in the Audi - 5 adults in an Audi A4 for 2 hrs is not what you'd call comforatable - especially when you're stuck in the middle in the back.

Arrived at around 11 with a brand new tent that we'd never had out of the bag let alone put up before (cheers to the 2 chaps who helped us wrestle with the thing untill it was up).

Pic of our tent area

Drinking ensued at this stage, lots of it. We had a visit from the guys with the "funnel of death" - Its suprising how quickly you can consume alchol with one of those things!

After this we played see how many people fit in the boot of an Audi (3).

This was inspired by a - "can Dan (6'2") fit in the boot of a mini and shut it (yes)" - game from a few months ago.

We also had a visit later on from a couple of (rather bladdered) members of the Crewe's Missiles. Found out in the morning that they had stolen one of our tent poles (fortunately they abandoned it in the field when they left in the morning so we got it back - a little bit bent).

Went to the show in the morning. had a wander round bought a couple of bits and bobs - rather annoyed because I saw some wicked sump guards on the Japanese parts stand, thought I'll buy one later, by which time they'd sold out.

Some great cars there my these were my highlights:
Removeable hard tops - always thought they'd be a good idea but 1st ones I've seen:
Attached File  DSC00222.JPG   503.21K   7 downloadsAttached File  DSC00236.JPG   606.51K   4 downloads

Superchargers - really want one:
Attached File  DSC00223.JPG   468.12K   3 downloadsAttached File  DSC00240.JPG   598.01K   7 downloads

Love this car - makes me want to paint my wheels Gold
Attached File  DSC00244.JPG   540.22K   2 downloads

2 Vauxhall engines (one front one back) now thats just greedy!!
Attached File  DSC00253.JPG   522.9K   5 downloadsAttached File  DSC00254.JPG   457.05K   5 downloads

I love this van - wouldn't change a thing about it (not many cars I can say that about - mine included).
Attached File  DSC00235.JPG   535.07K   2 downloads

Did anyone else see the dreadlocked dog?
Attached File  DSC00243.JPG   517.06K   8 downloads

More pics of the show here Gallery

Anyhow - got home to this:
Attached File  DSC00260.JPG   540.24K   4 downloads
My mini looking a bit sorry for itself. I'm getting worried about what I'm going to find (especially as I have done the fiesta brake conversion - who knows what the problem could be)

Checked all the unions for leaks they were all fine checked passeneger side rear wheel cylinder - drum full of fluid:
Attached File  DSC00261.JPG   591.18K   3 downloads

Changed cylinders and shoes on both sides yesterday - back on the road! Oh and fixed the fluid level warning light as well!! (conection corroded and snapped off)

MITP was the 1st mini show I've been to in a couple of years so I really enjoyed it (was expensive though). My only regrets were not making it in the mini and not getting there early enough to have met some people from here but having said that the brake problem could have been a lot lot worse had it happened on the M40 rather than sat at some traffic lights in town.

nah, after an original... it's a right pain, as about 4 years ago, I watched one drive into the local scrappy ( which I later gutted for pretty much everything ), and wish now I'd just had the whole car...
