bump stops gone!!??

yeah i was fidling (again) and i twisted the bump stops and they fell off?? (well one fell off so i pulled the other off) is this a problem??? they were cut down anyway.

well yes it is a problem, they are there for a reason, what was the reason for pulling the other one off?

Well something will fail when you break the suspension on a speedbump, probably your bowels first and then maybe the shocks.will it fail anmot for this??
Put them back on.

right ordered new bump stops but it has now occured to me how do i remove the old bases now i have tore the tops off??

try holding the remaining washer with a monster pair of mole grips, or gas pliers. failing that grind it off.

there should have been a nice nut on the back of the bump stop.... holding it on....
the front one can be a pain to remove but it's do-able with a spanner and some mole grips, and usually plenty of plusgas too.
I've found the bset what to do this job is to find a large socket (i mean laaaaarge!) and bang it over the bump stop so that it grips, then on the socket put your rachet, then thorught the subframe tower poke a spanner and grip the nut. rachet away!
the front one can be a pain to remove but it's do-able with a spanner and some mole grips, and usually plenty of plusgas too.
