No you didn't mention your age therefore you be about 100...... or 15 ?  not sure which ;-) lol

My mistake, I was sure you said you had removed it....  oh well what SCCR kit do you have then ?

Just read through this and I'm glad someone is defending the use of straight cut boxes on the road. I personally love the sound and feel, just because they are noisy and one particular person can't cope with the noise doesn't mean it isn't drivable as a road car.
I doubt many people on here would want to even sit as a passenger in my car, and that's before the straight cut box goes in and the new engine is screaming at high rpm with no exhaust silencing....or sound proofing

Well the sound of a sccr wont get you a lot of chicks.. ;) now if someone would invest in custom ratio helical ( or dare i say it, herringbone) gears. That would be intresting.

Well this escilated quickly!

as already mentioned the noise of SC boxes and drops can vary a lot from manufacturer to manufacturer and also depends on other things like how the engines mounted, personally I run the minispares ST kit in a remote box with the minispares timkin drops and a 3.1 diff, Ive never found this setup overly noisy, if fact the other half has reguarly slept in the car on the motorway.

in terms of why do i have this fitted... try putting turbo power through a helical box... the limit seems to be about 150 hp, although the drops seem to last  to over 200hp ok if you get the right setup... but no one knew that back when i built the engine.

in terms of drivability, i find it fine, first could be a bit shorter for trafic, but I never really see any in it.

Right enough of the attitude. If this carries on like this then I will close this thread.
