hello people my 1380 is up running and seemingly ok i'd like to get a rought needle selection done to be able to drive it without worrying about it leaning out and stuff i dont have the money for rolling road yet and would like to drive it to castle combe next month

my question is can anyone help with needle selection i have tried win su but my computer is not letting me install it my cam is 286 its a 1380 single hiff44 maniflow system and inlet cone filter and stg 3 mspd head

winsu reccomended needle, BDP
"other needles to try" BDK, BDR

bhp estimate 99bhp

ps i put in stg2 head as i believe morspeed uses std mg valve sizes on stg3 heads i might be wrong though

BDR would work.. and should work ok.. i would prob hand profile the top end (the small end) from about half way with some fine sand paper.. as you will need more fuel than the BDR will give at the top end..

excellent, i asked the same question the other day and noone answered :'(

I have a 1380 with 286 cam, single hiff44 maniflow system and inlet cone filter and stg 3/4 head... so i guess my question is answered too... i only need the car to get me to the rolling road garage, they're also setting up the suspension.

got bdp and bdkfrom minispares....
fitted bdp and tuned it to suit (bye ear) went like poo off a shovel GREAT!!! more fine tuning and i thought i'd better try the bdk and again fueling a touch out but got it going nice and again screams all the way into the red WOW but i'm worried about what dazzler said it might lean off at the top end,
which is the richer needle?as i think i'd rather it be a touch rich than lean? i cant tell by eye they are very close i'm very pleased with your advice and help guys BIG THANKS just need more info on which will be safest as i dont want it going pop!
if i'm reading too far into this sorry just dont have knowlage on the different codes on the needles
