Completely on impulse, we've just now booked a caravan at a site in town so we'll be at the show on Sunday!  :D

What about the people that organise this event?
You'll probably find they work really hard to put on a show and face all sorts of issues.
It would be a shame for the Riv Run to get forgotten about.
We need to support it as behind the scenes they have big plans.

Hello all!
It sounds to me that Rivi will be quiet this year due to the IMM....how many of you are actually going?
Henrietta is still laid up in the garage and need some infpiration to get her finished and back on the road. Im considering going in my Aygo and picking up some parts whilst Im there. It wouldnt be the first time Ive done Rivi alone, but it seems again that none of my friends are actually going! :errr:

Has your mini ever been on the road ?

Rubbish? What part?
Other than getting soaked on Sunday in the rain. Out of the shows control though. I thought it was a good event.

1 trader and 1 small auto-jumbler, Show was no longer on tarmac and on a wet field. Entertainment on the site was shocking. Smallest turnout I've seen in the 8 or so years I've been going. Campsite was dead and had no atmosphere at all.

The event is a joke now. The entertainment in "The Venue" consisted of karaoke with 4 people watching and a couple of pool tables with cues that fell apart, the 'show' was just a small gathering of cars on a field in the rain and I don't know if the autocross even happened this time. The Sunday show was never a massive thing in previous years but it was somewhere nice for people to gather and wander to the autocross over the road with some chips before the main run started. I suspect the move was down to the carpark being full of old caravans as the campsite looks to be in the process of refurbishment.

Will definitely be returning to the resort but I think Riv Run has run its course now. It's a long way for most people to go for not a lot of show or atmosphere.

And don't make me laugh, theres nothing to organise. They just do exactly the same as previous years. Print out a bunch of run packs, organise an area for the show and shine and all 2 of the traders and set a time for the run. Fill in the relevant paperwork for hosting an event and job done.

Don't get me wrong it's been really good in previous years and the work has more than paid off, but if you're impressed by this years event then you need to get to some other shows badly!

Yeah, I'll be honest I wasn't hugely impressed.  For a weekend event there was a lot of dead time that wasn't filled.

I think there should have been more communal activites, the entertainment on Friday night was just awful, although the band on Saturday was pretty good.

The run to the cider was was good as well

We spent 35 minutes at the show on Sunday and to be honest that was enough

Don't get me wrong we enjoyed ourselves but it could have been a lot better
