What I need is some practical advice no joke comments

I have a 1275 runing engine(in the car)
Sw5 cam
Hiff 44 carb
Stage 1 kit with lcb
What's the best and most reliable way to get more power
Without spending a fortune?
It does have a 1 2 3 electronic egnition
If that helps

I would suggest a dyno (rolling road) tune. Its amazing the difference that a proper tune from someone who really knows what they are doing can make.

This! Removing weight is the cheapest way to make a car faster, sell some of the parts you removed and you even make money!Loose some weight off the car!!!!

But the easiest is removing weight from the car, or yourself

If you haven't got a decent cylinder head on there, then that's the next logical upgrade. Then as others have said, a rolling road tune and some weight reduction.
Phil.
I would agree with Turbo Phil. A well reworked cylinder head and some time on a rolling road.
He probably doesn't know this but I have some of his previous work to look forward to in the next couple of months.
Shed some weight and if you still have spare change look at cams, carbs and filters.

Exactly what I was about to say, the key to power on a A Series is in a good head, what power do you want ? your spec and a head job would make a 80bhp'ish engine, don't forget the distributor a standard curve wont be much good.
