Not had time to do much to the Min other than to investigate some bulges in the inner wing braces where they are spot welded to the cross member. Sure enough, there is rust between the brace and cross member. Drilled out 9 spot welds on the off side and the cross member should clean up ok with a small repair to the end. The n/s is worse, and the rust has gone through the cross member which will need plating.

It's almost a year since I last updated this thread, had to have a break from working on the Mini due to work and family commitments. The last couple of weekends have been spent sorting out the loft and shed to store the remaining parts that have been stripped out of the shell. My sons and I (we from now on) removed the wiring loom, remaining interior and headliner, and then removed the front sub frame, so the shell is now standing on a pallet with castors while we build the roll over spit.
