I don't think there is more useable space in an mgb! The rear seats arnt really useable and although it is a hatch its steeply racked so and large items wont fit with the boot lid closed.

Just to throw a spanner in the works, have a nice mini and enjoy and look after it then pick up A mk1 MX5 Eunos to have RWD fun.

Ultra reliable appreciating classic with a limited slip diff, air con and 5 speed and you can pick them up for as little as £300 in the winter. Great cars, great fun. I had a Austin Healey Sprite, dark blue with wheel wheels back in the day but due to hip problems I couldn`t get out of one now without removing the steering wheel first.

I`m just under 13 stone and 5`11" before you tell me to go on a diet ;)

I'll stick to my Mini and MGA.
Although I'd love a GT6

I guess the other question is...
Is there an MG forum as good as TMF?

there are a couple that are friendly but nothing like TMF, the yanks loved them so a lot of either yank based or a lot from both. I liked the mg experience the best but only really used it for technical info.

whereas a mini has a tiny boot. The MGB GT also has a floor cover that can be removed for extra space but there is bucket loads anyway. It's not Passat estate big but you can't compare a minis boot to the MGB GT one.

Mgb's aren't that big either, I had a clubby estate and when I parked my GT next to it, they were pretty much the same size!!

I'm another who owns both, although the B GT is currently living with an 85 year old retired panel beater who's welding and flatting and leading all sorts of half panels and bits of biscuit tin into it [ ;D ] and it'll be a work of wonder when he's finished!

If you're speaking of commuting on a budget, half reasonable Bs can be picked up more cheaply at the moment than the equivalent Mini and there's the same sort of easy and cheap parts availability!

You might want to try one. Usable space isn't vastly different from a Mini either, and, of course, is infinitely better than a VX220, 'because I've had one of those too as a shopping car.

Easier to get into than a VX? I managed that fine (but it was about 13yrs ago...)
