My mini going for a total rust removal and respray in a weeks time. Once the respray has been done, is there anything else I can ask the body shop to spray on, to achieve a really high gloss look.
I mean that when we bought a brand new VW we were asked if we wanted the car sprayed with a high gloss protection layer. It made a big difference, we saw a car at the garage before and after.
Any help would be appreciated from anyone, especially proffesional car painters (any on here)
Thanks
Andy

To achieve a really deep and glossy shine, seen it done quite a few times with the hot rod boys.
You need to flat the fresh paintwork down slightly with very fine wet and dry just to smooth out all the imperfections, you mush wait for the paint to fully harden first, the longer the better.
Next using a mop and some cutting compound you slowly polish back up the paint with finer and finer compounds till you end up with a really deep shine.
If you look at the top of this section the re is a how to guide that will give you a rough idea.
