Thank you for the help.
I hadn't pressed the races and bearings in sufficiently. That fixed it and the brakes are assembled. Go to the full post

Hey guys,
I'm currently building up the minispares Cooper s disc brake conversion kit. I'm stuck on getting the rubber boot over the bearing. How do I fit it? I've attached a picture for reference

The seal is an interference fit in the swivel hub and just pushes in. I normally use the old seal to protect the new seal as I'm tapping it in. Make sure it's square. It doesn't go along the way down so it touches the bearing - there is a spacer that goes between the seal and bearing, although these seem to be no longer supplied so and I think are deemed noto necessary and presumably NLA. It's about 1/8" think if I recall.

Is your inner bearing in enough? as above tap in with something to make sure it goes in square

This might sound dumb, but it just seems impossible. Have I got the order right?
Place bearing in race, and then press boot over it? Except it just seems as if the boot won't go over the bearing, every time I try to tap it in,it just bounces around!

It's not a boot it's a seal with a metal section. You need to make sure than the bearing is far enough.
I used the old bearing outer ground down to drive the seal in as I didn't succeed with the old seal and I didn't have have a big enough socket.

If you tap it in evenly it will grip the hub inner, if you can't apply level even pressure it will spring out.

Whack one side with a bit more confidence whilst pressing down the opposite side as hard as you can. Working your way round hitting the opposite side next. Or use a massive socket to hit and spread the load
