I think with the second pic, you will also need a rear beam axle to replace the rear subframe.

The second pic is a pic of coil-overs, and replace the old rubber cones and trumpets. I am not sure if you need a beam axle though as I think you can buy rear brackets to keep the rear subframe. Coil overs are the dog's danglies and i have though about them on several occasions. Replacing the rear subframe with a beam axle will take a large amount of weight off the arse end of the car and I have heard that it gets a bit twitchy with so much weight removed. If you can afford it I would definately go with coil overs. Give Huddersfield Spares a call, they do quite a few kits.
The rubber cone replacement coils... Have no idea but there is an article in Sept issue of Miniworld, page 92. It basically says that cheapo versions can fail due to become coil bound??? Apparently minitastic have just brought out a two new setups, one for soft road and the other stiffer setup for fast road/race use, OOOOoooooh!!)

Them minitastic coils look the bee's knees, i've had my eye on them for a couple of months now.
Has anyone had any experience with them, or heard any good/bad feedback?
