My First Classic

I looked for a good few weeks at lots of rot boxes and boxes minis that where realy over priced then a one caught my I and I had to go look at it
I traveled the 127 miles to Barnsley and when I got the stood a mint 95% complete 1987 mini city that the lad had restored over the last 4 years he showed me round and explained that it has had new floor pans, wings, apanels, sills and boot floor then undersealed inside and underneath
It has had a nice vinyl retrim in black and orange leather and all that was left to do was new carpets and dash insert
I decided that I had to have it so went in to sort money and logbook out where he showed me a folder with all photo evidence of restoration plus loads of recites and a long list of engine work which included ported and polished head all new Barings new camshaft and a stage one kit I couldn't believe that none of this was mentioned in the advert as to me it's a big selling point
So I set sail on the way home and was very weary of over 100 miles on the motorway but it took it in its stride and got home without a bother
I have big plans for this mini and am getting to work straight away putting my touch on it
This is how it stands the day I got it
I will keep this posted of the work getting done

Lovely little mini that you've gotten. Congrats on your purchase. Love the wheels and the orange stripes too.

Been looking into engine swap what would be the best way to go to get the most power for my money I will have around £1000 to spend on engine and tuning
Sound alike your engine is fine I assume it's a 998? Personally I would prefer a sorted 998 to an unknown 1275 particularly if yours is cammed and ported.
