I had exact same problem, mine was inadvertently cured when I fitted both left and right lower engine\gear box steadies, (which were previously missing.) I don't doubt there is worn parts in the box, but the reduction in engine kick at gearbox level, specifically on throttle release, seamed to cure it, for now....
